We are currently trying to supply every dog in a capital district shelter with a Kong Toy that can be stuffed with peanut butter or other treats.  Dogs in a few of these shelters never leave their cages until such time as they are adopted or euthanized.  Without exercise, they can become agitated, unhappy and develop behavioral problems.   We think that by providing them with something to do (and chew!) we can help diminish some of the negative behaviors, thus making them more adoptable.  (We will also be donating Kongs to rescue groups).
